My Journey

Finding the Moments

My journey into photography started back in college while I was working toward my journalism teaching endorsement. At the time, I never expected a class requirement would turn into something I’d continue pursuing years later, but once I picked up a camera, I was hooked.

For the past 13 years, I’ve been a high school yearbook sponsor, which has given me the chance to spend every year teaching students photography while constantly sharpening my own skills at the same time. There’s something rewarding about helping others learn to see and tell stories through a camera lens.

My love for landscape photography really took off after attending a photography workshop in Yosemite with landscape photographer John Bosma. Being surrounded by incredible scenery and learning to slow down and truly see a place changed the way I think about photography and life overall.

I enjoy photographing just about anything that tells a story—landscapes, wildlife, sports, and action. No matter what I’m shooting, I’m always chasing the same thing: the feeling behind the image. I want people to do more than just see a photograph; I want them to feel like they were there in that moment.
